We must admit, we hadn't previously heard much about this region before, except maybe a little regarding La Rosiere but its a cool skiing area that links France (La Rosiere) and Italy (La Thuile) in the Northern alps.
Its a pretty sunny resort due to its position in the alps and offers great snowcover alongside this.
Apres ski isn't great in this part of the world...with both resorts more aimed at a chilled back atmosphere. You'll have to find your favorite bar and stick with it we're afraid!
Being lesser known doesn't mean you're small and should be discounted. Espace San Bernardo still offers a creditable 160km of slopes across two countries with a difficulty more accustomed to the intermediate skiier.
Expert skiiers may be dissapointed with only 22km of black runs, but off-piste opportunities are available and easily accessed throughout the region. There is also an 'avalanche-controlled' freeride zone in La Rosiere for extra piece of mind and first timers.
